Chartrand graduated from the faculty of dentistry at the Université
de Montréal in 1988 and completed a specialization
in prosthodontics at Tufts University in Boston
in 1992. Known for its clinical focus, Tufts provided Dr. Chartrand with the opportunity to experience the emergence of dental implantology—a field that is revolutionizing the tooth replacement field. Under the tutelage of Tufts professors Dr Lloyd Miller and Dr Kenneth Malament, he studied with internationally renowned ceramists and gained expertise in esthetic biomaterials—paving the way for Dr. Chartrand to operate his own laboratory which is integrated with his Pointe-Claire dental clinic.
Upon his return to Quebec, Dr. Chartrand settled in the West Island and rapidly earned the confidence and trust of general and specialized dentists. He taught prosthodontics for a dozen years as a lecturer, visiting professor and speaker at dental societies and study circles.
Since 2001, he has devoted his energies full time to his private practice in Pointe-Claire to serve the dental community and patients in need of specialized dental care. A perfectionist who is passionate about prosthodontics, he participates each year in training sessions and conventions in the US and Europe so his patients can benefit from the latest advancements in implantology and dental restorative care
